about

BALCONY is a BIFA nominated short film and Berlinale Crystal Bear Winner by writer-director Toby Fell-Holden (Screen Star of Tomorrow 2016) and produced by Tom Kimberley and Ali Mansuri, starring Charlotte Beaumont ('Broadchurch', 'Waterloo Road') and Genevieve Dunne.

The short film was initially selected by Film London as part of their competitive 'London Calling Plus' Scheme aimed at BAME filmmakers. After going through a script development and pitching process the director and producers of 'Balcony' where commissioned by Film London and awarded production funding in association with the BFI Net.Work and Creative Skillset. More than 621 filmmaking teams from across the capital applied to the London Calling scheme with 21 projects being eventually greenlit.

Western Edge Pictures and finance entity Gennaker Group came on board as executive producers.

'Balcony' premiered at the 2015 BFI London Film Festival. It went on to win the 'London Calling Plus Award' for Best Short Film and a BIFA nomination for Best British Short Film, along with three Academy® Accredited Best Short Film Awards at Flickerfest International Short Film Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival, and Calgary International Film Festival.
